This page is part of our turnkey fire fighting projects range. Water alone does not put out a petrol or diesel fire, and it can spread the fuel. Foam floats on the fuel and cuts off the air. A bladder tank foam system in Hyderabad stores concentrate in a tank and mixes it into the water line when a fire starts. It runs on water pressure, so a power failure does not stop it.
How the proportioner works
A bladder tank is a steel pressure vessel with a rubber bladder inside that holds the foam concentrate. Water flowing through the proportioner on the supply line sends a small part around the bladder, and that pressure squeezes the concentrate out.
The concentrate meets the water stream at a set ratio, often three or six per cent. The mixed solution runs to foam chambers, sprinklers or monitors, which turn it into foam.
Where foam is used
Foam suits flammable liquids, so it appears wherever fuel is stored or handled:
- Diesel and petrol storage tanks
- Fuel loading and unloading bays
- Generator rooms with day tanks
- Boiler rooms and fuel pump houses
- Workshops and chemical stores
Sizing the system
The design starts with the hazard area and the foam application rate. From these we work out the solution flow, the tank size and the concentrate quantity for the discharge time needed.
The tank goes near the water supply with room for refilling. Pipework is sized so that the mixing ratio stays correct across the flow range, which is where cheap designs often fail.
Who we work for
Builders and architects of fuel stations, depots and plants can bring us in at the design stage, so tank rooms, drains and bunds are planned together. MEP consultants can send the specification and we price against it. Corporates and hospital owners get one team across sites and wings. Industries get designs matched to their hazards. Defence establishments, including Indian Navy and Army sites, can ask for a plan and quote, subject to their security and vendor-registration rules. For upkeep after handover, see our fire safety AMC page.
Foam systems across Hyderabad
Fuel depots and loading bays near Patancheru, Jeedimetla and Shamshabad use foam for tank and gantry hazards. Generator rooms in Gachibowli and Hitech City towers use compact foam systems beside diesel day tanks.
Pharma and chemical units at Bachupally and Jeedimetla use foam for solvent stores, where water alone would spread the liquid. The Telangana State Disaster Response & Fire Services Department inspects the finished work. Our Gachibowli team handles each job, and the Hyderabad office page lists our other services. Coastal sites can read our Bladder Tank Foam System in Visakhapatnam page.

Standards and approvals
We design to NBC 2016 Part 4 and NFPA 11 and NFPA 16 as references for foam systems. The fire department decides what each building needs, and Essatech does not issue or promise approval. Our fire NOC consultant page explains the usual steps. These rules hold wherever we plan a bladder tank foam system in Hyderabad.
How the work runs
- Send drawingsShare floor plans, site details and any tank and hazard details already specified.
- Survey and designOur engineers visit the Hyderabad site, measure it and draft the design.
- QuoteYou get an itemised quote that lists each part and the site work.
- InstallationOur own team will install and connect everything, area by area.
- Test and hand overEvery part is tested with you present, and you receive drawings and records.
What affects the price
- Hazard area and foam application rate
- Size of the bladder tank
- Type and quantity of concentrate
- Foam chambers, nozzles or monitors
- Pipework and valves
- Testing and concentrate refills
What to send us
- Layout of tanks and hazard areas
- What liquids are stored
- Water supply details
- Existing fire systems on site
