CCTV Security System in Hyderabad

Last updated: 21 October 2026

A CCTV security system in Hyderabad should be planned around what each camera must show: a face, a number plate or just activity. Essatech designs, supplies and installs systems for homes, offices, shops, factories and gated communities, with recording sized to your needs and viewing on your phone.

This page is part of our CCTV surveillance systems range. Plenty of buildings have cameras that record for months and never help once. The footage shows a blur at the gate or a figure from above. A CCTV security system in Hyderabad works when every camera has a clear job before anything is bought. We write that brief with you, then choose equipment and plan cabling. When it is time to fit it, our CCTV installation team takes over.

Write the brief before buying cameras

Walk the site and ask what each camera must prove. A camera that identifies people must show a face filling a good part of the frame, so it sits close and at head height. Reading a vehicle plate needs a dedicated camera aimed along the lane. To see that something happened in a car park, a wide view is enough.

We mark these jobs on a plan, point by point. The plan then decides the lens, resolution, height and lighting at each spot. It also makes the quote easy to compare, because you can see what each camera is for.

What the system is made of

Cameras are only the visible part. Behind them sit a recorder or server, network switches, cabling, power supplies, storage disks, a monitor for the guard and the app for remote viewing.

Each part can fail the system. A cheap switch drops cameras, an undersized disk loses old footage and a missing UPS stops recording in a power cut. We size every part to the camera plan.

  • Cameras matched to each point
  • Recorder: NVR for IP or DVR for analogue, or a server for large sites
  • PoE network switches
  • Cabling in conduit or casing
  • UPS for recorder and switches
  • Surveillance hard disks
  • Guard monitor and phone app

IP or analogue HD

IP cameras send digital video over network cable and carry power on the same cable. They offer higher resolution and smarter alerts. Analogue HD cameras use coaxial cable and suit upgrades where good coaxial is already in the walls.

New offices, towers and gated communities nearly always go IP. A small shop with sound old wiring can save money with analogue HD.

Storage days and cost

Storage is the part people underestimate. Every extra day of recording needs more disk space, and more cameras or higher resolution multiply it. Busy scenes take more space than quiet ones.

Pick the days you really need, often 15 or 30, and we size the disks for that. Motion recording saves space but can miss the first seconds. Continuous recording at a lower frame rate is a common middle path.

Night, glare and tough housings

Most cameras switch to infrared at night and show black and white. Colour night cameras add soft light and help identify clothing and vehicles. Infrared range on the box is often generous, so we test at night before handover.

Gates facing a road, glass lobbies and basement ramps throw strong backlight. Wide dynamic range cameras handle this. Cameras within reach should sit in vandal-resistant domes, and outdoor units need proper weather ratings.

Alerts that people actually read

Motion alerts on every camera soon become noise, and people stop opening them. We set alerts only on cameras and hours that matter, such as the gate after midnight or the store room on Sundays.

Smart IP cameras can filter for people or vehicles and ignore swaying trees, rain and stray dogs. Line crossing alerts work well on boundary walls. A good CCTV security system in Hyderabad sends a few useful alerts, not hundreds.

Linking CCTV with other systems

Cameras do more when they work with other systems. At an office door, the camera can record each access card swipe, so every entry has a face beside it. Our access control systems page explains how that works.

At a gate, number plate cameras can open a boom barrier for known vehicles and log visitors. Linked to the fire alarm, the nearest camera can appear on the guard's screen during an alarm.

Privacy and where not to point cameras

Never point cameras into toilets, changing rooms, bedrooms or a neighbour's home. Put up signs that CCTV is in use, limit who can view footage, and delete recordings when you no longer need them.

In offices, tell staff where cameras are and why. In gated communities, agree positions with the association. Strong passwords and separate logins stop most misuse.

CCTV for Hyderabad communities, offices and shops

Gated communities in Kokapet, Kondapur and Bachupally mostly ask for gate cameras with number plate capture, clubhouse and lift lobby views, and remote viewing for the association. IT offices in Hitech City, Gachibowli and the Financial District need door, reception and server room cameras tied to access control.

Shops in Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and Kukatpally want clear counter views and owners who can check in from a phone. Warehouses near Shamshabad need long boundary coverage, often with PTZ cameras and industrial cameras.

Our Gachibowli team designs each CCTV security system in Hyderabad, and the Hyderabad office page lists our other services. For coastal sites, see our CCTV security system in Visakhapatnam page.

Standards and approvals

Use cameras and recorders with BIS registration where the law covers them, and follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, for recordings of people. CCTV is not part of a fire NOC from the Telangana State Disaster Response & Fire Services Department, though fire and CCTV integration links cameras to the fire alarm.

Questions people ask us

How much does a CCTV system cost in Hyderabad?

Cost depends on the number of cameras, resolution and lenses, the days of recording, the recorder, cable length and whether you want yearly service. A four-camera home system and a gated community with sixty cameras are very different. Send a plan or photos, and we will give an itemised quote after a visit.

How many days of recording can I store?

As many as your disks allow. Days depend on the number of cameras, resolution, frame rate, compression and how busy each scene is. Most clients choose 15 or 30 days. We size the disks to your choice and show you what more days would cost.

Can I watch my cameras on my phone?

Yes. We set up the maker's app, create separate logins for each person and test it on mobile data. You can watch live and play back recordings from anywhere with internet. Keep the admin password to yourself and change it if a staff member leaves.

Which CCTV system suits a gated community in Hyderabad?

Most communities use IP cameras on a network, with number plate cameras at the gates, face cameras at entrances and lift lobbies, and wide views of parking and boundary walls. A central recorder sits in the security room, with phone viewing for the association. We plan positions so no camera looks into a flat.

Do you install CCTV for homes in Hyderabad?

Yes. A typical home system has four to eight cameras covering the gate, doors, parking and terrace, with phone viewing. We run neat cabling in casing and set up alerts that ignore trees and passing traffic. Separate logins can be made for each family member.

Can you upgrade an old CCTV system in Hyderabad?

Usually, yes. If the coaxial cable tests well, analogue HD cameras and a new DVR can lift picture quality without rewiring. If you want IP features or the cable is damaged, new network cable is needed. We test first and give you both options where they make sense.
