This page is part of our turnkey fire fighting projects range. Fuel is handled everywhere on the Vizag coast: at depots, jetties, shipyards and plants. A spill fire there needs foam, not water alone. A bladder tank foam system in Visakhapatnam mixes concentrate into the fire water automatically. Salt air and long pipe runs make careful design and regular checks important.
Inside the tank
The tank is a steel vessel with a flexible bladder that holds the concentrate. When fire water flows past the proportioner, part of it presses on the outside of the bladder and pushes concentrate into the stream.
Because the water does the work, no motor or electric supply is needed at the tank. The pumps behind it still have to run, which is why the pump set matters as much as the foam.
Port and coastal hazards
Fuel and chemical hazards near the coast include tank farms, jetty pipelines, ship repair yards and bunkering points. Open tanks need foam chambers fixed to the shell. Loading areas need monitors or foam-water sprinklers.
Salt attacks tank shells, valves and fixings. We choose coatings and stainless parts where they pay off and inspect them at each visit.
Sizing and testing
We work from the hazard area, the application rate and the discharge time, then size the tank, the concentrate and the pipework. A flow test checks that the mixing ratio holds across the range.
Concentrate is sampled at intervals and replaced when it fails the test. Each result goes into a log, so you can show when the system was last proved.
Who we serve
Builders and architects of depots, shipyards and plants can involve us early, so tank rooms, bunds and drains are planned with the foam system. Consultants can send us the specification, and we return a matching price. Corporate campuses and hospitals get one team across blocks. Industrial clients get designs matched to their hazards. Indian Navy and Army establishments, along with other defence sites, can request a plan and quote under their own security and vendor-registration rules. For upkeep after handover, see our fire safety AMC page.
Foam systems across Visakhapatnam
Fuel depots and tank farms near Gajuwaka, Autonagar and Parawada need foam for tanks and loading gantries. Hotels and offices in Dwaraka Nagar and Madhurawada use small foam systems for generator rooms.
Shipyard and port fuel areas near Gajuwaka need systems that stand up to salt air and heavy use. The Andhra Pradesh Fire Services Department inspects the finished work. Our Suryabagh head office handles each job, and the Visakhapatnam office page lists our other work. Inland sites can read our Bladder Tank Foam System in Hyderabad page.

Standards and approvals
Designs follow NBC 2016 Part 4 and NFPA 11 and NFPA 16 as references for foam systems. Approval rests with the Andhra Pradesh Fire Services Department, and Essatech neither issues nor promises it. The fire NOC consultant page sets out the order of work. We apply the same rules to each bladder tank foam system in Visakhapatnam that we plan.
How the work runs
