This page is part of our turnkey fire fighting projects range. Engine rooms, generator halls and cable galleries are common on the Vizag coast, and water is a poor way to fight a fire in them. A CO2 flooding system in Visakhapatnam displaces the air and stops the fire without wetting the equipment. The gas is hazardous, so the design must put people first.
What happens at release
Detectors signal the release panel. A siren and a light warn anyone inside, and a delay lets them leave. After the delay the cylinders discharge, and the oxygen in the room falls below what the fire needs.
The room stays closed for the hold time, then it is ventilated. Nobody re-enters until the air is tested.
Protecting people
Carbon dioxide is dangerous to life at fire-fighting levels. We fit alarms, delays, signs at every door and a lock-off valve that isolates the cylinders during maintenance.
Where people work in the room, we recommend a clean agent such as FM200. Our guide on suppression gases compares the options.
Coastal care
Salt attacks cylinders, pipes and brackets. We use protective coatings, check fixings and inspect for corrosion at each service visit. Cylinders are weighed on a schedule, and any loss of gas is corrected before it matters.
Who we serve
Builders and architects of plants, ports and offices can involve us early, so machinery rooms are planned with sealed walls and safe exits. Consultants can send us the specification, and we return a matching price. Corporate campuses and hospitals get one team across blocks. Industrial clients get designs matched to their hazards. Indian Navy and Army establishments, along with other defence sites, can request a plan and quote under their own security and vendor-registration rules. For upkeep after handover, see our fire safety AMC page.
CO2 systems across Visakhapatnam
Generator and engine rooms at Gajuwaka, Autonagar and Parawada use CO2 where nobody works. Port and shipyard sites protect cable galleries and machinery spaces.
Offices in Dwaraka Nagar and Madhurawada protect generator rooms in basements. The Andhra Pradesh Fire Services Department inspects the finished work. Our Suryabagh head office handles each job, and the Visakhapatnam office page lists our other work. Inland sites can read our CO2 Flooding System in Hyderabad page.

Standards and approvals
Designs follow NBC 2016 Part 4 and NFPA 12 as the reference for carbon dioxide systems. Approval rests with the Andhra Pradesh Fire Services Department, and Essatech neither issues nor promises it. The fire NOC consultant page sets out the order of work. We apply the same terms to every CO2 flooding system in Visakhapatnam we install.
