Offices, apartment towers and shops choose the ABC fire extinguisher in Hyderabad more than any other type, because one unit covers wood, paper, fuel and gas fires. It is a sound default for general floor areas. It is a poor choice for a server rack or a sealed store, and our guide to types of fire extinguishers explains the limits.
What the powder does and what it leaves
The powder is mono ammonium phosphate. It smothers the flame and coats a burning surface, so a Class A fire in paper or wood is less likely to restart. It also breaks the chain of a liquid or gas flame in Class B and C fires.
At the rated voltage the powder does not conduct, so it can be used on live equipment while you reach the isolator. The cost is cleanup. Residue is fine, sticky when damp and mildly corrosive, and it settles into relays and lift controllers.
Stored pressure or cartridge type
Most small units are stored pressure. The powder and nitrogen sit in one shell, and a gauge shows the pressure. They are simple to check each month and suit offices and homes.
Cartridge type units keep the gas in a separate small cylinder. They are heavier and used mostly in workshops and plant rooms.

Placing units on a tower floor
Fit each ABC fire extinguisher in Hyderabad towers along exit routes, close to the stairs and lift lobby. Mount the handle at a height most adults reach, and keep the floor in front clear.
A sign above each unit makes it visible from across the floor. IS 2190 sets the method for counting units from floor area and risk.
- One unit near each exit door
- Units at the pantry and printer corner
- Units beside the DG set and lift motor room
- A CO2 unit near server and panel rooms
Limits you should know
Powder will not stop a cooking oil fire from reigniting, so use a wet chemical unit there. Avoid powder in a data room too, since the dust can ruin equipment the fire never touched. Our CO2 fire extinguisher in Hyderabad page covers the better choice for those rooms.
ABC units in Hyderabad IT parks and towers
Glass office floors in Hitech City, Madhapur and Gachibowli change tenants often, and a new tenant may arrive with units that are out of date or removed. We survey the floor, supply the units and tag each one before handover.
Gated towers in Kondapur and Kokapet place units on every landing, in the basement and beside the clubhouse. We keep one list of dates for every block.
The Telangana State Disaster Response & Fire Services often checks tags and dates first. We keep that record ready and support refills through fire extinguisher refilling in the city. Sites on the coast can see ABC fire extinguisher in Visakhapatnam.
