This page is part of our turnkey fire fighting projects range. An extinguisher that has been used even for a second needs refilling, because the pressure starts to drop. Others lose pressure slowly over time or reach their test date. Fire extinguisher refilling in Hyderabad keeps every unit ready and your records current. If you are buying new units, see our fire extinguishers page first.
What happens during a refill
A proper refill is more than topping up powder. Each unit is taken apart, checked and rebuilt, and the steps below are followed for every cylinder.
Skipping the inside check is the most common shortcut in the trade. Moisture or caked powder inside a cylinder can stop it working, even if the gauge reads green.
- Discharge the old contents safely
- Inspect the cylinder inside and out for rust and damage
- Clean the inside and dry it fully
- Hydro-test the cylinder where it is due
- Check and replace the valve parts, hose and nozzle if worn
- Refill with the right agent and pressurise
- Fit a new safety seal and a dated service tag
How often to refill or test
Intervals differ by type and maker, and they are set by IS 2190 and the cylinder label. We follow those, rather than a single rule for every unit. The table shows what to check for each common type.

Pickup, loan cylinders and turnaround
We collect units from your site and return them refilled and tagged. For offices, schools and apartment communities, we can swap in loan cylinders while yours are away, so no corridor or kitchen is left without an extinguisher.
Turnaround depends on the number of units and whether any need a pressure test. We tell you the return date when we collect. Bulk refills for large sites can be done in batches, floor by floor.
Signs that an extinguisher needs service
Check each extinguisher once a month, as it takes seconds. A unit needs service if the gauge needle is in the red, the safety pin or seal is missing, or the body is dented or rusty.
Also look for a cracked hose, a blocked nozzle or a tag that is past its date. CO2 units have no gauge, so they are weighed instead. Any unit that has been used, even for a short burst, should go for refilling.
Refilling service across Hyderabad
We collect and deliver across the areas we serve, from Gachibowli, Kondapur and Kukatpally to Begumpet, Secunderabad and Uppal. Offices in Hitech City often book refills for all floors at once, with loan units swapped in one evening and their own units returned later.
Apartment communities in Miyapur and Bachupally usually group refills for every block on one day. That keeps costs down and gives the association one clean record.
Officers of the Telangana State Disaster Response & Fire Services Department often check extinguisher tags during inspection. Our Gachibowli team handles fire extinguisher refilling in Hyderabad, and the Hyderabad office page lists our other services. For coastal sites, see fire extinguisher refilling in Visakhapatnam.
