Owners often learn about the fire NOC late, when a sale, loan or licence needs it. The fire NOC process in Hyderabad has clear stages, and knowing them saves time. This guide explains the stages in plain language. It is general guidance, so check current rules with the authority.
Who gives the NOC
In Hyderabad, the fire NOC comes from Telangana State Disaster Response & Fire Services. The department sets the rules for each building class and carries out the inspection. Essatech does not issue the NOC and does not act for the department.
What we do is design, supply, install and test the systems your building needs, and prepare the paperwork your consultant submits.
The steps in order
The usual order is below. Your architect or fire consultant can confirm the details for your case.
- Check which category your building falls in, based on height, use and area
- Prepare fire safety drawings with the architect or consultant
- Submit the application and drawings to the department
- Install the fire alarm, fire fighting and escape systems as approved
- Test everything and keep the reports
- Request the inspection and fix any points raised
- Receive the certificate and keep it for renewal
Documents you will need
Expect to provide ownership papers, approved building plans, fire safety drawings, equipment details and test certificates. Installers usually give a completion certificate and commissioning reports for their own work.
Ask your installer for these at the start, so they are not rushed at the end. Our fire NOC consultant page explains how we support the paperwork.
Where owners lose time
Delays come from plans that change after approval, equipment that does not match the drawings, and missing test records. Pumps that were never run for the required time, alarm panels that are not connected to sounders, and blocked exits are common inspection points.
A pre-inspection check by a fire engineer finds most of these early. See our fire safety audit page.
Renewal and upkeep
The certificate is not a one-time paper. Systems must stay working, and the NOC must be renewed as the rules require. A yearly maintenance contract keeps the equipment tested and the records ready. See the fire safety AMC page for what we cover.
Mistakes to avoid
These errors slow down the fire NOC process in Hyderabad more often than any rule does.
- Starting the application before the building plan is final, so that drawings change later
- Buying equipment that does not match the approved drawings
- Skipping pump and alarm tests, then having no reports for the inspector
- Blocking staircases or exits with storage before the inspection
- Forgetting the renewal date, then rushing a repeat inspection
