This page is part of our fire alarm systems range. Not every building needs a high-end panel. A clinic in Ameerpet or a godown at Shamshabad usually needs a simple, reliable alarm that staff understand. A conventional fire alarm system in Hyderabad gives exactly that at a lower cost. It is one of two panel types covered on our main fire alarm system page.
How zones work
Detectors and call points are wired in groups, called zones. Each zone is one cable circuit back to the panel. When any device on that circuit trips, the panel lights up the zone number and sounds the hooters.
The panel cannot tell which device on the zone tripped. Staff walk the zone and look for the detector with its red light on. That is why good zone planning matters so much.
Where conventional fits and where it does not
Conventional panels suit buildings where a zone is small enough to search quickly. Towers, hospitals and big campuses need the exact location, which only an addressable system gives.

Planning the zones
As design practice, each floor gets at least its own zone, and large floors are split further. Each zone should cover an area a person can search in a short time. Stairs, lift shafts and plant rooms often get separate zones.
These are rules of thumb, not legal numbers. The final zoning comes from the design, the drawings and IS 2189. We mark zones on your plan and label every zone on the panel and on a chart beside it.
Panels and brands we supply
We supply and install conventional panels from Ravel, Agni and Cooper. Panel size depends on the number of zones, with 2, 4, 8 and 16 zone models the common choices. Pick one with a spare zone or two for future changes.
Each panel needs a standby battery sized for the backup time in the design. Detectors, call points and hooters should be compatible with the panel, so we supply them as matched sets. Our conventional fire alarm panel page covers panel features in more detail.
Moving to addressable later
Buildings grow, and some owners later want device-level location. Where the existing cable is fire-survival rated and in good condition, an addressable panel can often reuse much of it. The zone circuits are rearranged into loops and new addressable devices go on.
This works well when the original install used good cable and tidy routes. We plan new conventional systems with that in mind, so a later upgrade costs less.
Testing and care
At handover we test every detector and call point, check hooter levels and run the panel on battery. You get a zone chart and test records.
After that, weekly call point tests by staff and planned service visits keep it healthy. A fire safety AMC covers batteries, detector checks and fault finding.
Conventional alarms across Hyderabad
Small offices and clinics in Ameerpet, Kukatpally and Secunderabad make up much of our conventional work. They usually need a 4 or 8 zone panel, smoke detectors in rooms and heat detectors in pantries.
Warehouses at Shamshabad and Medchal often use conventional panels with beam detectors across the roof. Shops in Begumpet and Uppal need a simple panel the owner can understand and test.
Inspections are done by the Telangana State Disaster Response & Fire Services Department. Our Gachibowli team supplies and installs each conventional fire alarm system in Hyderabad, and the Hyderabad office page lists our other services. For coastal sites, see conventional fire alarm system in Visakhapatnam.

Standards and approvals
Systems are designed and installed as per IS 2189, with panels and detectors to EN 54 or an equivalent listing. The fire department decides what each building needs, and Essatech does not issue or promise approval.
