Electrical fires start from heat at a loose joint, an overloaded cable or a failed insulator. Water on live equipment is dangerous, so electrical spaces need an agent that does not carry current and a plan to cut power at the right moment.
This page covers protection for the room or space. For fire inside a single cabinet, see our electrical panel fire suppression page, which covers that work in full. We bring both levels together when a site needs them.
Match the protection to the space
No single method suits every electrical space. The choice depends on whether people enter the space, how big it is and what sits inside it.
- Space
- HT and LT switch rooms
- Usual protection
- Clean agent, or CO2 where nobody is present
- Space
- Cable galleries
- Usual protection
- Linear heat detection with CO2 or water mist

- Outdoor oil transformers
- Usual protection
- Water spray or nitrogen injection

- UPS and battery rooms

- Tube based systems
Switch rooms and cable galleries
Every electrical fire suppression system in Hyderabad starts with the space. A switch room with staff who come and go suits a clean agent, which can be used in occupied rooms at design concentration. A switch room that is normally locked can use CO2 flooding, with a lock-off and a time delay before release.
Cable galleries run long and carry many cables, so a fire can travel along them. Linear heat detection finds the hot spot along the run. A water mist system is an alternative where CO2 is not wanted.
Transformers, UPS rooms and cabinets
Oil-filled transformers outdoors usually get water spray or nitrogen injection. Both are designed so that power is off before agent flows. Indoor dry-type units are protected by the room system.
UPS and battery rooms hold stored energy that can reignite. Lithium banks need extra steps, which our lithium battery fire suppression page explains. Small cabinets can be covered by a tube based system without a room design.
Power trip and safe release
In an electrical fire suppression system in Hyderabad, a signal trips the supply to the affected equipment before the agent releases. Without this step, an arc can keep burning or restart. We list each trip point in the design so your electrical contractor can wire it.
Our guide on how to protect an electrical panel from fire shows the checks owners can make between visits, such as spotting hot joints.
Electrical room protection across Hyderabad
Factories at Patancheru and Jeedimetla run large HT and LT rooms with cable galleries. Office towers in the Financial District and Nanakramguda hold UPS rooms and switch rooms for tenants.
Residential and commercial sites in Uppal have substations that need review. The Telangana State Disaster Response & Fire Services Department inspects the finished building. Our Gachibowli engineers visit each site before design.

Standards and approvals
Designs follow NBC 2016 Part 4, with NFPA 2001 for clean agent rooms, NFPA 12 and IS 6382 for CO2, and NFPA 72 for detection. The fire department decides what each building needs, and Essatech does not issue or promise a fire NOC. These rules apply to every electrical fire suppression system in Hyderabad that we plan.
Approvals belong to specific models, so we share the FM or UL listing for the exact model we quote, and match the approval your insurer or consultant specifies. We supply Siemens, Rotarex, Safepro and Swastik products.
