A standard indoor hooter fails quickly in rain, dust and sun. A weather proof hooter works like an electric hooter but has weatherproof construction for outdoor use. It connects directly to the system's control panel, and during a fire alarm the fire alarm panel switches it on to warn people with a loud sound.
