Door Access Control Systems

A door access control system limits entry to authorised people in a room or a building, and keeps a record of who went where and when. It helps small and large organisations manage access and is also used for house doors and lockers. Essatech supplies, installs and services door access control systems in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. Send us your drawings and we will plan the doors and quote.

What door access control does

Door access control checks a person's registered details before allowing entry. It helps organisations control who can enter their premises, rooms or restricted areas. These systems offer an easy-to-use, cost-effective way to track employee activity, and they can also help reduce stock loss, known as inventory shrinkage. Essatech supplies, installs and services door access control systems in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, including fingerprint-activated locks. Door security is part of our access control systems.

How it works: cards and fingerprints

Smart cards are a common way to verify a person's identity. Biometric authentication uses a person's physical characteristics, such as fingerprints, to check access, which makes it harder for someone else to impersonate an authorised user. In the fingerprint setup described here, a scanner is fixed to the wall beside each room's door. It sends fingerprint image data to a controller through a USB connection, and the controller connects to an automatic door lock and a local area network, or LAN. Essatech also provides LAN and Wi-Fi networking solutions.

Door hardware and reader connections

The door-mounted setup includes a lock, a magnet with an extension, and a connection to the biometric unit. It also includes a push-button switch for exit and a card reader. In an advanced door access system, the card reader can act as a secondary device connected to the main unit. For employee attendance recording, see our biometric attendance systems.

Single-door and multi-door options

Door access control devices are available for single-door and multi-door use. Single-door controllers can offer both RFID and fingerprint options, and multi-door systems connect biometric readers to controllers that manage several doors:

  • Single-door access
  • 2-door access
  • 4-door access
  • 8-door access
  • 16-door access

Where door access control systems are used

Door access control is used to manage entry in workplaces, homes and other buildings. It can also restrict access to individual lockers:

  • Hotels
  • Offices
  • House doors
  • Lockers
  • Hospitals
  • Villas
  • IT sector premises

For builders, architects, MEP consultants, corporates, industries, hospitals and defence

Builders and commercial building owners save the most by planning the system at the design stage, when conduits and door frames are still open. Architects can give us the door schedule and we match the lock, reader and cable to each door, so the finish and the fire rating are not spoiled. Industries use it to separate plant, stores and offices, with shifts and contractor passes. Hospital owners use it to protect pharmacies, records and critical wards, and the doors must release on a fire alarm, which we link to the fire alarm system. MEP consultants can send the door schedule and we price readers and controllers against it. Corporates use it across floors, labs and server rooms. Defence establishments, including Navy and Army offices, stores and control rooms, use it, and we quote within their security and vendor-registration rules.

What you get from Essatech

We deliver access control as a complete job:

  • A free site visit, or a review of your door schedule and drawings
  • A design that sets out who can enter which door and when
  • Supply and installation of readers, locks, controllers and software
  • Enrolment of users and a test of every door
  • A link to the fire alarm so doors release on alarm
  • Service visits and support afterwards

Testing and upkeep

At each service visit we test every reader and lock, check the emergency exit release and the fire alarm link, back up the user list and remove users who have left. A door that fails locked traps people and one that fails open defeats the system, so both faults are fixed at once.

What decides the cost

A quote for door access control depends on:

  • The number of doors and controllers
  • The reader type: card, PIN, fingerprint or face
  • Software, reports and any link to attendance
  • Cabling, locks and door preparation

What to send us for a quote

Share these through the quote page or on WhatsApp:

  • Floor plans or a door schedule
  • The number of users and the doors each may enter
  • Door types: glass, wood, metal or fire-rated
  • Your location and the date you need the work done

Common questions

Can a system use both cards and fingerprints?

Yes. Door access systems use smart cards or fingerprints, and single-door controllers come with both RFID and fingerprint options.

How many doors can one system manage?

From a single door to multi-door systems of 2, 4, 8 and 16 doors, with biometric readers connected to the controller.

Will the doors open in a fire?

Yes. We link the system to the fire alarm so doors release on alarm and escape routes stay clear.

Is it only for offices?

No. It is also used in hotels, hospitals, villas, house doors, lockers and IT premises.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the doors, readers and software. We quote in writing after a site visit or a review of your drawings.

Do you install and service it?

Yes. We supply, install and service door access control in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
