FM200 Fire Suppression System

FM200 is a waterless fire suppression system. It releases a fire-extinguishing agent into the protected area to control a fire. The system works with a fire alarm system. When detectors sense smoke, the alarm activates and the fire alarm panel sends a signal to trigger the FM200 discharge.

An FM200 system works only when the room is designed for it. The room must hold the agent long enough to control the fire, so doors, dampers and cable openings are sealed or closed on alarm, and the quantity of agent is calculated from the room volume. We check all of this on the site visit and link detection, the pre-discharge alarm and the discharge to your fire alarm panel. Smoke detection in the room, such as a smoke detector array, gives the early signal.

FM200 fire suppression needs regular checks to stay ready. At each service visit we check cylinder pressure and weight, test the detection and the signal from the alarm panel, inspect the pipework and nozzles, and confirm that the room is still sealed as designed. If a wall is cut or a cable opening is added, we review the design, because changes to the room change how well it holds the agent.
